The Bevin House Bed & Breakfast

This was our second bed and breakfast stay after moving to CT. What a wonderful stay is all I can say. My wife and I are in our 30s and needed a break for the night from our 6 kids. She’s old at heart and loved the history of the house. Service was exceptional. Amanda was friendly, informative, and you could tell she truly cared about every detail. Breakfast was a fresh fruit yogurt parfait with a crumble of biscotti to accommodate my wife’s walnut allergy, bacon, Julia Childs potatoes, and amazing crepes. We will absolutely be coming back here and recommend this place to anyone that visits.

Warm welcome by the house keeper whoeants to share every detail about fixtures, fittings and ingredients in the breakfast she make. No menu, your served what she chooses be it obscure choice or classed as fancy or maybe gormet. Eggs from the chickens on the property for instance. |Staying in historic house means you have to lug your foot your heavy luggage up 12 or three flights of stairs bathrooms are shared down a hallway. There is no lighting by the bed to read and small televisions in the wall away from the bed, though it is quiet, uncomfortable Depending on the other guests staying there. Lovely deep cool water pool beside the house too.

Not enough kind words can be said about The Bevin House. After only a one-night stay, this Victorian mansion already feels like a home away from home. Soft beds, historically appropriate furniture, a gentle wood-fire scent wafting throughout the house, a giant antique library, a farm-to-table breakfast... all made for a cozy winter getaway. Amanda is a stellar hostess. This place is an extension of her hard work, passion, and care for the little details. She greeted us with a smile and made the house feel like *ours*. And the owner, Dean, is a class-act! We're already planning another stay soon.

It was a very Zen experience. The rooms were beautiful and the house itself was very quaint. Amanda was truly amazing and made sure my Mom and I were well taken care of. The ambience was very calming. The animals out front were so precious and the food was really great. FRESH!! I would definitely recommend it to others for a great relaxing stay. 🎉

A feast for the senses. Dean, the owner, transformed this 1872 home into a period set with modern conveniences. Innkeeper Amanda thinks of everything. Gentle music (Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban) plays from a streaming service in the common areas during the day, and soothing soundscapes play at night. It feels like a different reality. Beautiful things surround you without being cluttered. Great smells abound, whether from cooking, baking or just cleanliness, but not overpowering. The library and sitting rooms are so inviting. The food is a distinctive experience. Amanda grows some of the produce and raises the chickens that provide the eggs. (Did I mention the chickens, goats and turkeys that run around the grounds? They are cute.) She bakes a different bread every day. Breakfast menus va
