We were very disappointed in our accommodations. I could have stayed in several lodgings but was told by the staff since I'm handicapped I should stay at the Barn. When we arrived I had to climb up 5 steps to get to my room with a walker. The room was changed to a walk in. However there was nothing but a bistro chair to sit on which was very uncomfortable. The springs in the bed creaked every time you moved and I was up all night. The second day we left the room at 8am and returned at 2:30pm. The beds were unmade. There were no fresh towels and the complimentary coffee pot and cups were still dirty. I made the beds and washed out the coffee pot and cups. At 3pm housekeeping came with a stack of towels and handed them to my husband at the door. They didn't hang them or remove the used towel
I have stayed here 2x before for mother daughter weekends and once for a simple couple getaway. There reasons are clear- the rooms are all clean, pretty, interesting, unique, rich with history, well stocked with all of the amenities of any large hotel, the people are lovely, the shops are fantastic, there is a spa close by, the beaches are minutes away, and Atlantic City is within 15 minutes. I love it here. Bonus benefit: tea, coffee, cider and delicious cookies are free all day! I dream about those cookies.
Love this place. It was cozy and comfortable. The view was great! Every morning you go into the coffee shop and get your complimentary "basket", which comes with your choice of warm muffin (I had banana nut), orange or cranberry juice, hot or iced coffee with your choice of different flavored syrups, & yogurt. Plus you can go into the coffee shop anytime throughout your visit and get regular sized hot or iced coffees and different cookies. I definitely want to visit again. The shops and restaurants in the village are really nice too and you get a 10% off coupon for all the shops if you're staying there.
This was a nice place to stay. Stayed Friday-Sunday for a Saturday wedding. We were forced to stay in the "barn" due to us having a child with us but it was still nice. The room was nice and toasty warm when we got in. We kept the room set at 70 and it was great. No drafts or anything like what others complained about. The shower had great water pressure but the shower head couldn't point down too much causing you to get hit with water if you stood at the far end. Also we only received two towels when they knew we were a family of 3. The pizza place was good (and I'm from NYC). A big plus is a microwave and fridge in your room, so leftovers were brought back for that late night snack. There is a Wawas right around the corner. Over all a nice place to stay, just wish we would have received
Beautiful rooms at the barn. We've stayed in 4 of them and love them all, but 308 is our favorite because it has a separate living room. We love coming here. The inn keeper, managers and staff are wonderful. The shops are always changing inventory so it never gets boring. The restaurants are great. You never have to leave the grounds from check in to check out.
