The Ambleside Pub

This place is truly special. I used to go to enjoy Ambleside when I was in Westchester often. Now I take the 90 minute drive from Long Island just to come here! So worth the trip. Went back again for my fiancé's birthday, which has sincr become a tradition, and not only did they accommodate a small impromptu gathering with ease, but also had a card & an awesome English candy bar for her! Jimmy & Steve go above & beyond. Every time we go now we get fresh meat pies and sausage rolls (so good!), then take a short walk up the road to the Hamlet to stock up on hard to find British snacks and frozen Ambleside pies in their freezer. Can't say enough good things about this place, food & staff included. Stupendous service, amazing atmosphere, fantastic food! Thanks to Ambleside for all the memories

Can’t rave enough about this place! The Wednesday night trivia (first and third Weds of every month) and it was a blast! Sooo lively and charming. Felt like I was back in London where I studied abroad. A mix of US and British trivia. Packed with people of all ages, dogs, kids. And the food is five stars! Loved the cheese-and-onion hand pasty so much. Buttery, flaky crust, flavorful caramelized onion, gooey and so fresh. Trying the vegetable curry bake next and their toffee sticky pudding. Shoutout to Steve for the recs, and the kindest Englishman in Westchester. 5 stars!!!!

The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. Can't say enough nice things about the staff, Jimmy, Steve and Kelly. We were also fortunate enough to meet Ian the Brewmaster . Drew and Leigh were warm and welcoming. My husband had the Burger Wellington and chips the first night. Second night, Fish and chips , I had an authentic Shepherds Pie . For dessert, I had the 99 ( I'm gluten free) and it did not disappoint.

My first time at the Ambleside Pub was such an incredible time from start to finish. I went on my birthday, and right at the end of the bar were two stools open for me and my boyfriend - exactly where I wanted to sit. The atmosphere exactly like a classic British pub. We were greeted warmly by Jimmy & Steve behind the bar - they immediately made us feel right at home. It was happy hour, so we enjoyed wine & the Ambleside beer only served there. The food. The food was delicious! I wanted fish and chips and they definitely brought me right back to London, crispy, light and perfect. This has been my new favorite spot in the past two months! Great food and great atmosphere! Great service. They are also cheerful and make you feel at home. I drive an hour to go and eat there twice a month and bring some take away with me! Thats how good the food is. 💕
