A bit disappointing. We drove over an hour from Maryland to eat here. The food was overpriced for the quality delivered. The decor was pretty basic - a few flags and pictures. The best part of the building was its reuse of an older train station. The main dining room is the old waiting room. The bathrooms have a lot of original tile work. There is another German restaurant in the area that we want to try if we go to Fredericksburg again. The beer was VERY overpriced @ $11 for a 0.3l Hefeweizen that you can get on tap lots of places (ie not hard to find) and $18 for a Radler (1/2 beer 1/2 lemon soda) Good food: White asparagus (spargel) side dish $9 Nuremberger sausages (App of 3 @ $10) Individual soft pretzel with mustard and cheese sauces. Enough frankly for 3-4 people, took half to

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic German Dining Experience! The Alpine Chef in Fredericksburg is an absolute must-visit! Housed in a beautifully converted old train station, the restaurant perfectly blends an Oktoberfest vibe with the charm of a Haufer House, making the atmosphere feel authentically German. We went to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was unforgettable. We started with warm, spiced Glühwein, and for my entrée, the lamb schnitzel with sauerkraut and spätzle was phenomenal—tender, flavorful, and left me wanting more. To top it off, the pretzel cheesecake roll for dessert was divine! Between the incredible food and cozy, immersive setting, The Alpine Chef made my birthday truly special. I can’t wait to go back!

Super delicious shrimp risotto and the bread pudding was phenomenal. The inside of the establishment was so fun, very tasteful, just an enjoyable experience sitting inside. I think because I went by myself, I got kind of forgotten about by my waitress, so service wasn’t the best I’ve witnessed, but the hostess was very sweet

Where to start? Immediately upon walking in, I felt like I was back in a tavern somewhere in Europe. Immaculate vibes and aesthetic warmth. The menu had a diverse selection, but it was still compact and focused. Our server was fantastic. She was very friendly, kind, and relaxed. I chose the duck sausage (with potato djmplings) from their wild game menu, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Fredericksburg. The price point is extremely reasonable when you consider the high quality and pure deliciousness of the food. This restaurant shouldn’t be missed by anyone looking for good food in Fredericksburg.

This place is a real treat! The fact that it was orginally a train station converted into this awesome restaurant makes it that more interesting. The food is delicious, the servers are dressed their part for a german restaurant and the ambience is very pleasant. We love coming here. We'll be back again and again! The hubster, son and our friend looooove the Weizen beer as you can see by the pictures.
