The Allen House Bed & Brunch

I recently had the opportunity to stay too full nights at this wonderful new bed and brunch, hosted by Michael and Bianca Benson. Everything about it was a 5-Star rating. The hosts were inviting, personal, and attentive to all my needs. When I first entered the Allen House lobby, I immediately knew this would be a place of rest and recuperation following a challenging year. I enjoyed sitting by the fire and reading, and having a piano in there was divine. And I was also fortunate enough to hear their daughter Amelia play a beautiful classical piece. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to relax and feel right at home. The Victorian décor throughout the home was absolutely lovely, full of character and elegant details that made the whole experience feel cozy and special. Fresh flowers were everywhere, adding such a cheerful, peaceful touch. One of the biggest highlights was the incredible food — everything was fresh, homemade, and delicious. The homemade scones were especially amazing and truly unforgettable!

What a beautiful gem of a historic home/b&b. Bianca & Michael were the perfect hosts!! We were greeted upon arrival with a warm welcome, drinks, and a cheese plate. The bed was cozy, and the room and bathroom felt like stepping back in time. There is a little mini fridge in the bedroom stocked with whole milk and nondairy creamer for your coffee or tea. Fresh-pressed coffee, a delicious homemade breakfast, and a mimosa will start your day right! The grounds were gorgeous. It was lovely to see the sandhill cranes flying overhead to the nearby Ridgefield wildlife refuge. Everything felt incredibly peaceful during our stay at the Allen House. The Benson family worked so hard to restore The Allen House back into a beautiful inn! They honored the history of this home, while also adding their own twists to the property. I was lucky enough to be invited for a sample tea service when Bianca was trying out a variety of delicious finger sandwiches and baked goods. Yum! I highly recommend a stay at The Allen House to anyone looking to lose all sense of time and enjoy delicious food and wonderful company from the Bensons!
