Tater’s Cafe

We discovered this restaurant shortly after we moved to West Salem in October of 2024. It has become my absolute favorite restaurant! Their food is absolutely amazing, it's like having your grandma make you food!! Everything's homemade and fresh to order. The cheese blitz has to be in my favorite, you can order it either just the cheese blitz or you can order the combo which comes with your choice of eggs and sausage or bacon. The cheese Bliss is essentially a crepe filled with a kind of sweet cream cheese, then lightly fried and served with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. For it being something that is deep fried it's not greasy, I didn't even realize it was deep fried until a couple visits ago. We went today for my birthday and discovered that they do a special treat for customers

We asked on our home town Facebook page about places to have a great breakfast not in Albany and Taters was our pick. Let me tell you the did not disappoint. Great server. She was very on top of her game. Me have been in the industry for 25 plus years. The food was quick for being homemade and hot. Eggs cooked to perfection and homemade biscuits were melt in your mouth delicious. We love it and will make the 60 mile round trip again.

7 years ago we had a few great dinning experiences here. This trip was different. We got sat immediately, 5-10 for staff to take our order. Then we waited 45 minutes. Presentation good. But was not as i remembered. My husbands sasage was still cold in the middle, pancakes were rubbery. Eggs were a perfect over medium. Potatoe o"brians seemed air or oil fried no seasoning of flavor the onions & peppers could have been cooked longer and with potatoes to help with flavor. It's cute and when patiobisvopen good room for extra guest. But need to have more cooks or a better system. And communication with the guests on food expectations.

Great patio seating! My dish had more hollandaise and gravy then I would have put on the food. I had a hard time tasting my eggs. It was hard to tell because there was just too much gravy. Overpowered the whole dish.

I like the friendly atmosphere, food tastes and looks great, didnt have to wait long either. Im coming back here thats for sure!
