Such a cute little place with amazing owners. Had lunch here and knew nothing about Danish food. The owner was so informative and we went with her suggestions. I loved the rye bread but my son said he wasn't sure it had enough bread to be called so 😆 Do make sure you end your meal with a danish. And make sure to order it at the start of your meal so they can get it into the oven. If I'd known how delicious they would be I'd have ordered more to go. I had planned to share the one I ordered but it went directly into my mouth. The chocolate milk typically drank in Denmark with the hotdogs was so good. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more items on the menu. And the juices! My son is already planning to take his wife so you know it was good. Parking can be difficult. You will pay f
I came in here for lunch , the inside is tiny with just a few tables. Was served quickly. The Danish woman working gave exceptional service, and talked us through the menu. I got a roast beef sandwich on rye and my friend got a hot dog. The food was unique and unlike food I’ve had before. We also had a glass of chocolate milk from Denmark that I enjoyed. Lastly she suggested a fresh danish, and man was it good!
Very interesting place, and ideal if you want to try something different. I have tried a few European cuisine restaurants and I always enjoy the food 😊 the owners seem very nice- looks to be a mom and pop shop, and the wife will take care of you. She pops in frequently to see if you're loving everything 🏃🏼♀️😅 Onto the food. Homemade, generous portions, the rye bread with kernels is goooood, and very filling. The Danish pastry is not too sweet (unlike American danishes), but the filling was lovely 💜 They sell loaves of homemade rye bread and Danish cheeses. I bought "faetter kras"(?) which translates to "cousin harsh"- great cheese with toast, butter, and jam 😋 Give this place a go if you want a taste of something you can't get anywhere else. I'll definitely be back in the future!
A taste of Danish perfection. Came in with my spouse on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, right around noon. Not very busy, which was extremely curious for how good the food is. Owned by a wife and husband pair, they serve up traditional Danish food on the most adorable vintage plates they collected and brought from Denmark. They make a majority of all their food in-house from scratch! She started us off with a complimentary plate of freshed baked rye (extra hearty and with whole grains!) with her own mustard remoulade, pickled cabbage, and fresh strawberries. Incredible. Then we shared a red hot dog and the grill burger (which was actually their own roasted pork that JUST came out of the oven) so tender and the cracklin was absolutely perfect in texture. The star of the show (the pork belly b
If I could put 100 stars I would. First I want to say that the food is something I've never tried before but now I will def be coming back to have again and again. I started with the butternut squash soup with cheese... it was absolutely perfect. My boyfriend had the red sausage, the explosion of delicious flavor when you took that first bite 😚👌🏼 *Chefs kiss*. When we thought how can this be topped? On came round 2! I had the tartlet and my boyfriend had the grill bar burger. Both were so amazing I dreamt about it that same night. We even bought some cheese to take home, which was also so delicious. The service is probably the best service I've had since moving to San Diego. You can tell she was so excited to share her culture with us and I was just as excited to hear about it. One trip t
