Taqueria Vallarta

After a hike we stopped here for lunch. I had the regular chorizo burrito. The chorizo was packed evenly throughout. This is important to me so that you don't get to the end to be just cleaning up rice. The chorizo was also wonderfully tasty with just the right amount of grease. I mean come on, you want a little grease with a good chorizo, but the burrito held together till the end.

I've been eating here a long time and everything is always really good but the breakfast burrito I had today was truly something special. Whoever was cooking back there today needs a raise The quesabirria is also amazing 📸

Born and raised in SoCal, I know some bomb Mexican food, and this place has it. This review is more about how terrible the “greeters” are. The people that take your order. There’s a girl and a guy, in particular, whom are extremely rude. I’ve been here probably 5 times and they have always been the ones to take my order. Being a blonde haired, blue eyed white woman, you’d think I wouldn’t know Spanish, but I’m fluent. And have heard them speak about me, and I want them to keep thinking that I don’t know a lick of what they’re saying. But the food is bomb. The servers, BASURA.

The shrimp taco stands out. The shrimp are so big and bountiful that they don’t fit in the taco. First taco I’ve had served with a fork. The shrimp are bathed in “grilled pico de gallo”. This isn’t pico de gallo from the salsa bar. This is a smoky tangy molcajete sauce that’s pairs beautifully with the shrimp. I never knew you could cook the shrimp in this. It’s delicious - wipe up every drop. The large windows of the restaurant allow lots of light to enter. The cashier and kitchen area are bright and cheerful - not dark and hidden. A staff member was sweeping floors and wiping tables. I don’t see this in other restaurants currently. The food arrived at my table before I could remove my jacket.

The food is always great at this Taco Vallarta. The service was quick and efficient, and our take out order was ready in a few minutes. It looks like they recently expanded the menu as well.
