Taqueria El Mexicano

A solid 2 on the food. The service was fine. Nothing extraordinary. We didn’t ask for too many things and the waitress seemed very shy. Ordered the tamales and the fajitas. The free chips and salsa were good. The sauces were on point. The fajitas came out on a plate (not sizzling) we had the chicken and steak. The steak was cut very thin and very over cooked The chicken was plain- not a lot of taste. The rice had no flavor at all. The tamales were not really any better. $38 for lunch not bad pricing- but the food doesn’t reflect the pricing as it was not up to par. I do have to add The restaurant was very clean. Overall would not return.

So I didn’t go to the restaurant as the truck was parked across from my home as I was returning And I thought, yummy tacos. I was not disappointed at all. The Birria tacos were delicious and I should have asked for a little more cheese being a cheese lover, but it wasn’t needed. They were flavorful as well as the dipping stew and the lemon Judy put out over the top. Will definitely be visiting the restaurant as I can’t wait to try other opened on the menu. Yummy

Disappointed this time I ordered the angus steak chimichanga, cost over 16 dollars, and it was only with meat and cheese, no rice or beans as advertised?!

Taqueria El Mexicano is the one Mexican restaurant I keep coming back to. A friend brought me, and I keep coming back with everyone I know. The food is really delicious and flavorful, the prices are reasonable, and the service is always great. The inside is really cute and homey, I hate super plain and modern decor but they really give the place life. Everything is fresh and authentic, I had the birria tacos and my boyfriend had the California burrito and we left feeling so satisfied. We also had the vanilla tres leches which was really good too. All around, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Burlington county, if not New Jersey.

As a Mexican food fan, this place is top notch. It’s no frills, but that is what it’s supposed to be. I got the steak burrito and guacamole and chips. Wifey got the chicken tacos. All made perfectly.
