Taqueria Coco Loco is a charming little Mexican spot out in Chalmette that’s worth the short drive from New Orleans if you’re craving authentic, casual Mexican food with heart. It’s a humble taqueria with a friendly vibe — nothing fancy, just good food done right. The menu leans into classics like tacos (especially beef and fajita styles), quesadillas, nachos, and burritos, all seasoned boldly and served at very reasonable prices. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The taco plate at Taqueria Coco Loco was amazing! The tacos were full of flavor, tasted fresh and homemade, and the portions were great for the price. You can really tell the food is made with care. I’ll definitely be coming back for more tacos!

Wonderful food - we particularly enjoyed the baleadas, charro beans, and pastelitos, but the menu had a ton of stuff we need to come back and try. Prices were very reasonable. The people working there were super welcoming too!

This place blew me away!! I just stopped in on a whim. Amazing salsa, and two or three dozen different sauces to spice things up with. Chimichanga was awesome with the queso it was drowned in. This place is so fantastic. 20 bucks including 5 dollar tip. Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in Chalmette during the course of my entire life….. that’s not saying a lot though. This place is literally the best place in the area.
