Tampico Authentic Mexican Restaurant

I've been eating here for many years. The food takes me away to simpler times. Queso Steak Cho-mo, Black Beans and Green Rice. Homemade chips. Your can't go wrong with anything from the menus. But that Chimi is unparalleled! Thanks Adrian!

Certainly the best Mexican food in Leavenworth area. Service is always good with polite staff. Food is of good value for $. Atmosphere is good, it always gives me nostalgia of when I lived in Arizona and a Mexican restaurant in Tuscan would pull the tables away at 2100 and start playing in very enjoyable background music louder for enjoyable dancing. Little touches could make it better. If ordering a spicy dish, a grilled jalapeño to ensure I get my spice fix would be great. More sauce to counter the dryness of bigger chunks of meat. Corn tortillas were warm but didn't taste freshly made. I can take flour tortillas fresh or not, but have an expectation of fresh corn tortillas. Will continue to visit

Ate here for first time tonight. The salsa is not best I ever had but was good. Carne Asada was very good. Came with rice & refried beans. They offer military discount. Overall a great atmosphere and service! Loved the Christmas decor as well!

Lunch special today was pollo asado. Wow it was amazing. Very tender, flavorful and the service was outstanding and quick. I would definitely recommend. We will for sure go back. Unfortunately I had already cut the chicken before I took the photo. I couldn't help it, the food was amazing! By the way, the tortilla chips were served warm and the salsa was great as well.

My wife and I have been guests in Leavenworth, KS, for several nights, and we opted for Mexican fare for our final dinner.. We opted for Tampico based on others' reviews, and we were certainly pleased with our choice.. Nestled into historic, downtown Leavenworth, and within walking distance of at least two hotels, Tampico lives up to their mission and vision statements that are included inside their menu..
