Tamales Luisa

Excellent and convenient tamales and atoles that has become my regular stop off place just outside the woodside lirr/7 station. Everything I have had here so far is good, and the green sauce tamales are among the best I have had so far in the city. The proprietor Luisa will let you know that the green tamales are more spicy and her mole tamales are not spicy. As with most tamale places best to come in the morning, the later you are there the more likely she is to be sold out of some selections. All tamales at time of my visit are the corn husk variety (no oaxacan tamales).

Delicious tamales right underneath the Woodside - 61 St station for 7 train and LIRR. Got two salsa verde tamales for $2 and they were fresh, spicy, and delicious, with tender chicken and great salsa. Delicious to have hot tamales during winter. Great value; will definitely be coming back to try the mole tamales.

The tamale's are absolutely delicious! They're only $2 each and are well portioned. I purchased one of each (4 total) to split with my husband. We polished them off in less than 5 minutes. My favorite were the red and green tamales. Will definitely be going back!

I had the pleasure to come to Woodside and enjoy Tamales here… it was AMAZING! I’m not from NYC but I wanted to get out of Manhattan to discover more of the true NYC and a street food like Tamale Lady meets that goal. I had the spicy one and it actually kicks, and it was steaming hot too! Would come again for the $2 price they offer, absolutely fantastic.

The best tamales I had in Queens so far. Wish there was less masa and more filling (rajas y carne) tho. Would definitely be up to par with the ones I used to greatly enjoy in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Great price too. No son aprovechados 👍 Will definitely take the 20-30 min drive unless I find good tamales closer to me 🙃
