Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant

Yes, this gas station without a sign hides a very good northern Indian (Punjab) restaurant. We arrived following Google maps and thought we had to be in the wrong place but we found out the place is owned by an Indian family and is popular with anyone needing some great and inexpensive food along I-40. Nothing fancy inside, this is about quality working class Indian food. Exit 267 just west of Santa Rosa.

Was skeptical to try it out reading the reviews, but totally worth going. The food was really delicious! It was so good that you could easily overlook the little cleanliness issue. Tables were a little unclean, bathrooms were fine. We accidentally walked into kitchen too, it was clean! But with food that tasty, I'd definitely eat here again!

Disorganized and confusing, bit dirty, but decent food at this indian truck stop restaurant. When we first arrived we sat down and waited a while before asking a man in the dining room who was chilling and listening to loud indian music if they were open. He informed us that we pay up front. We went upfront and asked for a menu. We ordered our food and ordered a tea and water. We were then informed that we would pay for food after but got charged 3.50 for the water and tea presumably? The clerk did not speak english well enough to clarify. So we sat down and waited in the dining room again. The table was quite dirty. Then another man came with a menu to take our order. He was very nice but his english was also very poor. I explained that we had ordered up front and been charged for
