Tacos los oaxacos 29 palms

We decided to try Tacos Los Oaxacos tonight after reading the glowing reviews. All of the possibilities sounded good, but we ended up ordering two mulitas, one pastor and the other carne asada. It was fascinating watching our order being cooked and put together--all done quickly and efficiently at the same time as other orders were being taken and prepared. The results were spectacular. Mulitas are a relatively simple dish: meat and cheese, with optional chopped onions and cilantro, sandwiched between two lightly fried corn tortillas. Both kinds of meat were flavorful and succulent, the cheese was perfectly melty, and the tortillas just slightly crispy but still soft. Some of the best food I had road tripping from San Francisco down to LA!!! We had Mexican food at nearly every stop, and this place was the absolute best. The lengua texture was amazing, the asada was perfectly smoky, and they're very generous with the protein portions. We ended up going twice while in town to explore Joshua Tree NP and I wish we could go back a third time. Don't miss them when they're there, which seems to generally be at night as they are completely outdoors.

Unlike most Mexican foods, everything’s lightly salted which allows for flavors to come through. Highly recommend the grilled carne asada with bell peppers, onions and cheese. It was huge and flavorful.

Service was amazing and food was even better. This is a fantastic little establishment in town.

Good food, good smell, good people, and good cooking right in front of your guys. My first time here and I will come again.
