Taco John's

As I'm not in the area very often, I find the food here to be a welcome break from the only other drive-thru faux Mexican chain. I've found the food to be tasty, fresh and seasoned well. The portions to be of a good size and value for the money. The service for the drive-thru has been friendly. Never having been inside, I can't really speak to the atmosphere.

I've ordered from this specific location plenty of times. Normally, things are okay. I'm not sure what happened, if corporate is trying to cut expenses or they have new people in the kitchen, but every taco I received was pitiful in regards to the amount of filling ingredients. Very little cheese, very little beef, onions mixed in with the lettuce. I stopped going to taco bells for these exact reasons, if I get a taco I'm not ordering a tortilla with accents. If I order a sandwich and it's 90% bread that isn't a good sandwich and this location is not selling what I would call good tacos anymore. I'll probably go again at some point and if the experience is the same I'm going to drop this review to a single star and write off the entire franchise, the only thing saving the second star at

Decent spot for Tex-Mex cravings when you’re near Platteville. I swung by Taco John’s on E Business Hwy 151 recently — the Potato Olés hit the spot: crispy, salty, and dangerously addictive. The tacos were alright — a little basic compared with the Olés but still solid fast-food quality. Service was friendly enough, and the menu has good variety (breakfast burritos, fries, nachos, etc.) for a quick bite. Not gourmet by any stretch, but if you’re hungry, in a rush, or craving some late-night munchies — Taco John’s gets the job done.

I don’t usually go out of my way to leave reviews, but today I felt I had too. We ordered with door dash. And they stole 90% of our order. We called the store and they weren’t angry at all, they re made our order for us no arguing. It’s hard for me and my partner to always go out to get things. We have a new baby, we live on Main Street so we have to walk a good distance to the car everytime we go out. And right now our vehicles tire is damaged so it was really not ideal for us to go pick up our food. But the staff at taco John’s was very friendly and made our time worth it. Good food. Good people.

This place was alright for a lunch stop. The service was good and the food wasn’t anything special. The steak and potato burrito didn’t have much meet in it and the potato “wheels” where a little too salty
