Great casual atmosphere, easy walk up ordering, friendly staff, and fresh, filling, delicious food! The tofu scramble was hearty with tons of tempeh bacon. The Turtle Power sandwich was packed with flavor and so satisfying. Both with plenty of leftovers for a second meal.
The cinnamon roll was bad. It was as dry and lacking in flavor. Tasted like it was at least a day old. Ended up throwing most of it away. Waste of $7. The person working didn’t greet us and seemed like they didn’t want to be there.
My partner and I have been coming here for many years for the sandwiches. I get the Higgins and he gets the Turtle power. 10/10 most times. I will always come back for these, so good. Good coffee. The pastries, I feel less excited about. In recent memory I’ve had the Almond ring and that was pretty decent 8.5/10 and the strawberry danish 6/10. They also used to do Cronuts that were really yummy. What has been disappointing was the matcha coffee cake and the regular coffee cake. They made me sad. I love coffee cake and these were both dry and dense, with not a lot of flavor. 2/10.
Finally made the decision to try this place out and was not disappointed in the slightest. I grabbed their Breakfast Sammie, an almond ring, and a Charlie Brown. The tofu scramble in the Sammie was incredibly delicious, especially paired with their cashew cheese sauce. Also the tempeh bacon added a slight crispy crunch to vary the texture. Finally, the price is terrific, especially in this economy. The almond ring was as good as any non-vegan almond ring I’ve tried in the past. The Charlie Brown might have become a new addiction for me. It’s so rich and a good serving size to share or save half for later. The workers are friendly and greet you with kindness. It’s a nice and pretty quiet place to sit and read or do some work.
Their Thanksgiving version of “Tofurky” turned out to be completely different than typical ones - no filling/stuffing and gravy. Aesthetically not very pleasing either. Taste was unimpressively mediocre. Besides that, there was no instruction given for reheating. When asked, the instruction was incorrect because it still wasn’t sufficient to warm it up. Quite disappointing.
