Sweet Oaks Bakery

This was our first time visiting. We arent from Paintsville but had to come for something else, so I searched coffee shops on Google Maps. The reviews on here and social media looked really good so we decided to run by before leaving town. We bought food elsewhere so we didnt try anything here (next time!). The workers had patience with us, asking us what we liked since we had no clue, and they were very accommodating. Our drinks were all delicious! It was very clean in there. We visited about an hour before they closed so we were the only ones in there. Decorated very cute and cozy! We will return for sure next time we are down and try some of thr baked goods!

This place is wonderful. I've never had any kind of cookie that tasted like that. I thought it was delicious, melted in my mouth. The two young ladies that were working there were so nice and accommodating. That's what you look forward to when you go to an establishment. The store is spacious. Has a little area for kids. Pleasantly decorated.

Purchased (2) drinks and (2) desserts and it was $33.56. The coffee drinks were not bad actually. But the dessert's were not worth the money. Dry and little to no flavor. *Not to mention they had only 3-4 desserts to pick from due to nothing in the showcase*. And this was in the midday on the weekend and the girl had no other suggestions. Considering we would have bought so much more and willing to wait but the lack of caring or pushing there goods was not there.

I really wanted to like Sweet Oaks, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. I tried several cookies, a donut, and a brownie, and none of them lived up to expectations. The cookies were the biggest letdown. They looked appealing and had a rich taste at first bite, but they were underdone, extremely oily, and oddly lacked sweetness. After eating one, I actually felt a little unwell, which made me hesitant to try the rest. The donut was another miss. Instead of being light, sweet, and indulgent, it tasted more like plain cinnamon bread—dense, bland, and not satisfying as a donut at all. The brownie was the best of the bunch, but even that was just okay. It had a better balance of flavor, but compared to what you’d hope for in a bakery treat, it still fell short.
