I placed a pickup order from Sweet Home Jamaica today for oxtail with rice & peas and cabbage, plus a mango sea moss drink. Oxtail: 🔥 10/10. Perfect seasoning — a little Cajun kick blended with rich Caribbean spices. The meat was tender, flavorful, and the portion size was great. Only small note? I wish they had added a little more of that delicious oxtail gravy on top. That would’ve made it perfection. (So technically 9.5/10.) Rice & Peas: Cooked perfectly — not mushy, not dry, just right. Balanced flavor that complemented the oxtail beautifully. Cabbage: …Yeah, no. 2/10 (and honestly, it felt more like a 0). The flavors just weren’t there. It gave “Here you go since you asked” energy, like when your mom throws something on your plate so you’ll stop talking. Definitely not the highligh

Only giving 1 star for front staff...(Edit, now food) I come here a lot on my lunch break, love the food... Wife always hear me speaking of the great food. Today bought my wife.. Spanish lady, who I ordered through B4...gave me an my wife attitude..about something that's wrote on the menu.. Wife started to say something but didn't want to ruin the little time we spend together.. My wife felt it also .. I thought it was a little weird to see Spanish lady working in this store.. when I first started seeing her.but hey To now give attitude.. I can find a different lunch place spot, if this happens again Edit after eating....... Don't no if she making the food but now different, SAD.... Plantain was hard, curling up, not sticky, when touched no residue on fingers, felt like a potato.. C

My favorite spot when I want a taste of authentic Jamaican cuisine. During my most resent visit I ordered: Mannish Water, Curry Goat, and a small fried chicken. My family loved it hot, flavorful and delicious. Not to mention the fresh juices they offer. Soooo good. Try it and share what you ordered. Tell him Ari sent you.

The food is great IF you get it early in the day. They are open until 8 but the food quality goes down significantly after 5. Otherwise the food is good, fresh, and they have great portions. The chicken wings are good when it's early and they're fresh but after a certain time, the chicken is dry, hard, and inedible. I ordered delivery and all my food was dry, burnt, and overcooked. Again the food is great but they need to do better with keeping it fresh later in the day. They'll put anything in the bag when you order delivery after a certain time so that's another much needed improvement. They would be perfect if they ensured the quality of EVERYTHING. Giving me dry, flavorless, overcooked chicken was a turn off. It's best to just go in the store so you can see what you're getting and you'

I came to this restaurant with a few coworkers after a meeting. Upon my arrival, the cashier attendant seemed irritated with me inquiring about the menu. To settle, I ended up ordering the jerk chicken lunch special. However, once I got my platter, I realized it was only the jerk chicken and the rice & peas. I re-read the menu to make sure I wasn’t tripping, and it stated “rice & peas, yellow rice OR white rice AND vegetables” (please see sign attached). When I asked about the vegetables, the cashier stated “it’s $1 extra” then walked away. Didn’t ask if I wanted it…just walked away. Now, I know there’s a stereotype of dealing with “rude workers” at Jamaican restaurants is a common joke but the cashier WASN’T JAMAICAN. So I can’t accept that. The food overall wasn’t too bad. I give it a 3.
