Sushi Daiyo

My husband and I stopped in because of hearing good things. We were seated right away and after a few minutes someone was by to take our drink orders. The menu is massive and we tried to try a little bit of each section of it. We got the popcorn lobster for an appetizer, it was good but we don't think it added to the experience. We ordered the Lion King roll, shrimp fried rice, and the 3 item bento special with Gyoza, bulgogi, and California roll. Everything was good, but honestly the rice was the best part of the dinner. Their miso soup and salad was also done well. We would go back because it was a nice small spot and not over crowded. This has nothing to do with the food and I know it is not in the owners control, but there was a very odd/creepy individual at the bar that took away from

Close to home and I visited on a cold snowy night! I was impressed. The sushi was light and tasteful, the garlic edamame was nice, and above all I had the chicken upon! I think that was my favorite. The broth was so flavorful. I'll be back for sure.

Fantastic lunch out with my family yesterday after parent teacher conferences. JUST the way to unwind! We have several gorgeous and flavorful dishes made by the owner and staff. I HAD to capture the beautiful artwork like food before we devoured it! 2nd time here and we will be coming back!!!!

By far the BEST nigiri I’ve tasted in Colorado Springs. The fish quality, especially the salmon, is very fresh and delicious. It is so difficult to find a sushi place that gives good rice to fish ratio with their nigiri and Sushi Daiyo nailed it. The chef is an iron sushi chef and it shows in the quality and beauty of the food that is served. My only gripe is that service is slow, I believe they are short staffed.

Two waitress for the whole restaurant seems unfair to the two girls, everything they did was first met with a “sorry for the wait”. Not a whole lot of urgency from the sushi chefs, I’d think you would want to be pumping them out with how busy it was. It took 15 minutes once we sat down to take our drink order. Took another 40 minutes to get our sushi order. Displayed beautifully and tasted good but then we added one more roll half way through our order and that’s when it got bad. 55 minutes to get one roll and I had to go ask for it. Come to find out it was placed at the bottom of the list and they hadn’t even started on it because of togo orders. The sushi was good but not worth 55 minutes. I get it there are other customers and togo orders but it doesn’t seem right to make a customer wai
