Sunset Seafood Restaurant and Retail Market

The wait was too long for the quality of food. We waited an hour and a half for pasta and shrimp, there was definitely something off about the shrimp, and the pasta was mediocre. The food was not worth the price at all. Our waitress, Sam(I believe that was her name), was excellent, and attentive.

Hidden gem in seaside heights!! Looking over Marina… great menu for kids even vegetarian.. great staff, service .. true Jersey shore .. byob very affordable!

"Is this a joke?" my exact words when our food was served! I ordered the fish and chips, which should have been called kids fish Mcnuggets. The portion was tiny, four extremely small nuggets of fish and a small portion of French fries. I am not a big eater by any stretch of the imagination, and this did not come close to filling me up. We left and went to another restaurant to eat. On a positive note, our server was friendly and the "dive, waterfront" feel of the place was enjoyable. Will not return, and do not recommend.

My fiancée and I came here this weekend when we were in town. The restaurant smelt great as soon as you got to the door. Service was exceptionally quick, the atmosphere is very nice here being right by a marina with the view of the water. It is BYOB and they are accommodating with ice buckets to keep your canned/bottled drinks cold. The food came out very quickly and it was delicious. I ordered the crab cakes with potatoes and vegetables while my fiancée got a Caesar salad with the white/garlic sauce mussels. The crab cakes are different than MD style. It reminded me of a hush puppy style of crust, but it was full of lump crab. I enjoyed the different approach. The food was delicious at a fair price and we would certainly come back again.

Confusing spot that's always packed. Food was inconsistent. Mussel in garlic sauce- weird chicken tasting thickened sauce, like a garlic cream of chicken soup Bang bang duo- calamari was tender,, shrimp were butterflied, breaded, too perfect. Breading on calamari had dissolved into the sauce, lost the crispy texture and made the sauce gloppy Clams on the half shell were briny and tasty Shrimp and scallop dinner- same shrimp as appetizer, May be from a bag. Scallops were perfectly cooked, no grit, clean and oceany tasting. The vegetables were cooked perfectly so were the potatoes that came with dinner.
