Golden Gate Express

Good food, great ambiance and service. My mom had the roast pork egg foo young combination dinner and she said it was excellent. I had chicken Moo Goo Gai Pan combo and it was good. The vegetables were excellent but chicken was a little rubbery. The combination dinners were a good value that came with your choice of soup (egg drop or wonton), an egg roll, crunchy noodles, and fried rice. It was nice to eat real Chinese food in a pleasant restaurant with plenty of seating.

Decided to pick up food on the way home from walking the boardwalk. I checked the reviews prior to ordering and due to the amount of positive reviews I ordered from here. 1. Dumplings were actually not bad they remind me a little of china town dumplings in the city 2. General Tao chicken. I saw a review of someone stating the chicken was stringy and they were not lying. The texture of this chicken makes it inedible in my opinion. There was also no crisp to it at all. Almost gives a frozen and reheated 10x before serving. The sauce wasn’t great either. 3. Egg roll- I couldn’t taste anything 4. Fried rice- it legit mushed in my mouth. I’ve never tasted rice so disgusting before. There isn’t enough soy sauce in the world to enjoy this rice . 5. Chicken lo mein- my daughter said it was good. I

One star for the egg rolls. They were ok. We used to love this place, but our last two orders have been terrible. Stringy, tasteless chicken. Tough, inedible pork (in chow mein), served with very stale crispy noodles. Stale fortune cookies. Soup was tasteless. We threw everything out, except the egg rolls and gave the soup to our dogs. From what we can see, This place has really gone down hill. Won’t return.

The Golden Gate express has a very nice atmosphere and it is very clean. The food is spectacular but need to be careful of allergies with certain items on the menu. The restaurant is very clean and the service is great. Come here hungry because the portion sizes are very large and for a great price.

Absolutely wonderful Chinese restaurant. The young lady who helped us order was courteous and extremely helpful. My brother said he loved her socks as well. The food was quick and delicious with large portions.
