Sunset 89

Sunset 89 is honestly such a mixed experience for me. The food? So good. Like actually really, really good. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well plated, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen knows what they’re doing. No complaints there at all. If I was rating just the food, it would be an easy five stars. But the prices… I’m sorry, what? It is extremely overpriced. Not just a little high. I’m talking more expensive than restaurants in big cities. I’ve paid less in places like LA and New York. For Page, Arizona, the pricing feels kind of shocking. I fully expected tourist prices, but this was on another level. What made it worse is that the prices online are different from the actual menu. We arrived about 20 minutes before sunset and there was a long line at the door. Had to wait at least 15 minutes to get seated. Some people left because it seemed like they were overwhelemed by the busyness. Most of the tables looked agitated like they had been waiting forever for their food. When we got seated we were actually attended to promptly and got our drink (sunset margarita) which was just ok. For dinner we got the sunset 89 udon bowl with pork belly ...the egg was hard boiled (I'm used to it being softer) and the pork belly was dry. Flavor of the soup/broth was good though. My friend had the tofu stirfry...it was a very small portion for $32, decent flavor though.

We went to Sunset 89 for dinner based on the reviews. The service was excellent and a very clean and inviting restaurant. We ordered two dishes. The Brussels sprouts was good and the Korean Kalbi was mediocre (overcooked for our liking). The prices are relatively expensive as well. Fyi - They add 18% tips to the bill automatically. We were fine with this given the good service but important to know that it's not optional.

5/5 all around! We were visiting Page from Illinois and really enjoyed Sunset 89. The food and drinks were delicious and our service was amazing! The atmosphere and sunset views are stunning, so much so that we came back for a sunset drink another day. Our waiter was so helpful and friendly, he gave us suggestions for other places to check out and was super accommodating. We loved it here, highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Classic Cheeseburger and the Loaded Kalbi Fries. The cactus mule was delicious! Service was excellent. We went when it was already dark and it was still worth it to us!
