Sunny's Chicken & Sushi

Here we go with another review yalllll… So I went to this establishment because JL Jupiter suggested it and let me tell you, he wasn’t wrong at allllll. The wings are something I’ve never tasted before. How you grill a fried or baked wings, I have no idea but they did it! The wings also had this slightly spicy sweet sauce on them. Although you see the hot pepper flakes on the chicken, it’s not an overwhelming spice level. It’s very subtle. Now the rice baby!!!!! The beef rice was soooo very very good and they give you a lot of it. Lastly, my daughter had a shrimp tempura roll. I know yall are saying, “sushi from a chicken joint”? Yes honeyyyyy! I went here for dinner tonight around 4ish. I found a parking spot on the side street the same block as the old tower Theater. It’s a metered street. I waited for about 15 minutes for my food. I chose the spicy. The heat level was nice!!! I enjoyed it and there was a lot of hot chili oil in the bottom of the rice but I just mixed it in and ate it. I like that their wings are not big. They were a perfect size. I drove and ate my food and by the time I got from 69th and Market to 63rd and City Avenue, my wings were gone! I told my son that we could share so he can try it as well but when I tell you, I actually thought for a second not to give him any of this food because that flavor really stayed on my pallet for quite some time. Nice hood spot with some very good hot chicken and hot fried rice. Definitely check them out if you're in the area! Customer service was top notch as well. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and the service was quick.

This used to be my go to 13 years ago. I was disappointed. The teriyaki wings are not the same. Waste of money. It was just wings with sauce on it .

They have the best teriyaki wings and fried rice hands down. You can't go wrong with Sunny Chang's. One of the few places that you can still get delicious pizza by the slice.
