The pastries were awesome. The staff pointed me to the ham and cheese and the cream puffs, and I’m glad I listened. The ham and cheese was flaky and savory, and those cream puffs were next level. Only regret? I should’ve grabbed more cream puffs. Super friendly, great recs, and pastries that make you want to come back.

Sugarloaf bakery did such a fantastic job on the cake/cupcakes for our destination wedding. We are not locals but heard very great things about the shop. The design turned out beautiful with only a few details I provided. The cake itself was delicious and the buttercream icing isn’t like any I’ve tasted before! It was such a great experience working with them! I highly recommend to try them for just the flavor alone!

We recently got married in Beaufort, NC and worked with Sugarloaf Island Bakery for our wedding cake at the reception, and the Grooms cake at the rehearsal dinner! Both were beautiful and exactly what we asked for. We chose to go with buttercream frosting and a variety of cake flavors for each tier. All were delicious! A big “Thank you” to Sugarloaf Island Bakery for being a big part of our special weekend!!

Sugarloaf Island Bakery has received my top tier 5 star review. I learned about this local bakery from a PBS special featuring Seraphim Smith, a chef from Kinston, NC. Needless to say, I jumped in my car with a friend on Saturday morning to see what this place was all about. It's a small place in the lobby with display cases and racks with goodies on them. We each ordered the chocolate mousse cups and a blueberry cream cheese Danish and a cinnamon bun. These items were delicious and so fresh. We gobbled these down and then stood over the cases to see what was going home. My friend ordered a small blueberry cheesecake, 2 slices of Bavarian cream cake, a slice of chocolate torte, and 2 chocolate eclairs. These items were only 42.00. I was blown away. In my eyes, a great bargain. Do not hold

They’re super sweet here. Very kind and prompt service. One table for sitting. Thankfully I was the only one there so I was able to sit and enjoy my pepperoni and cheese croissant(: Also, they’re wonderful vibes sure attracts some gentle, kind and lovely people! Had to get the Honey Wheat Loaf to go! I’m on a long bike tour to Florida and it’ll keep me fueled for a few days. Ahhhh I’m just eating the honey loaf in the parking lot! It’s soooooo good!😅
