Very nice piece of history preserved. We really enjoyed our time here.
It was my great privilege to spend a couple days doing research at Sturgis Library. I was warmly welcomed and helped by the librarians and was given access to their archives and other reference research material. I couldn’t be more grateful and I encourage anyone visiting Barnstable to stop in a see the library that was also once the home of the town’s founding monster John Lothrop. As you drive in, be sure to take Route 6 so you’re traveling on the historic Old King’s Highway through the heart of historic Barnstable.
Beautiful library. Had an opportunity to do some family research. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable.
The library system ("CLAMS") on Cape Cod is wonderful, and Sturgis is the glory of that system. Library, museum, bookstore, neighborhood (alcohol-less) bar. . . .
Very nice library. Very helpful staff. I had a break through in my research with their help.
