Strange Matter Coffee MSU Union

Probably THE best place to get coffee on campus. The service is always amazing. The baristas are incredibly helpful. Prince was working register and was really helpful with picking out a good option when I wanted to try something new. Additionally, even when the place is busy you get your order pretty quickly. The drinks are always high quality. There's an amazing variety of options, and the cinnamon honey latte is great for these cold Michigan winters. The pastries just can't be beat, with gluten free options if you have dietary restrictions. Plus, it's a great local chain if you want to move away from Starbucks.

Strange Matter (at the union) has become routine for me and so many of my friends. All of the staff members are friendly all day, every day, and some of them even learned our names! The service is super fast, even during busy hours, and everything on their menu is delicious. From the regular donuts to the seasonal and gluten free options, every pastry tastes incredible (At this point I’ve tried almost every donut and I have enjoyed every single one). The drinks are also amazing and consistent. I can’t help but keep going back <3

Your coffee shop is one of my favorites and I really enjoy everything you serve, but the drip coffee is consistently very sour. Light roast, under-extraction, low brew temperature, or overly fresh beans might be the reason. Just wanted to share this feedback because everything else you make is great.

Strange Matter catered our event and Eli and Cara were wonderful to work with. They provided guidance in selecting our menu and everything was prepared exactly as expected. Would absolutely recommend working with them for catering.

When I was still living on campus I loved spending my combos here, definitely the best area to get a sweet treat. And, I recently went there with a friend and one of the staff even remembered my name! Thank you Prince!
