MSU Dairy Store

We got the mini for $3 each, the portion sizes were good. Service was fast and staff were friendly. However, the flavors were very mid/average. We got their two signatures. one was a vanilla with caramel and nuts , the other was vanilla with chocolate chunks and malt. We had high hopes as visitors to MSU, waiting in line for 30 minutes and for a place so famous. The first flavor I couldn’t taste what nuts there were because the pieces were so tiny, and the second flavor tasted like overwhelmingly fake chocolate. Both were also sickeningly sweet, neither of us could finish more than half of the mini size without feeling nauseous. Not good at all for us.

This is not your ordinary ice cream. They have won ice cream awards including this year for number one college ice cream shop. They make all their ice cream on campus from the dairy cows. It's personally One of the past if not the past ice creams in Michigan. If you stop by when they're busy, lines can be out the door. If you have a craving for some really Amazing ice cream It will be worth it!

Fantastic ice cream, well priced. I wish they had some indoor seating options to eat it. What kind of psychopath wouldn't give this 5 place stars?

I know this won't be received well. But, it's just ok. Cool in theory to have a neat little store on campus and the ice cream is pretty good. They just started carrying beef from the cattle farm. Yah, that was an eye opener. Priced super high. I had to pass. We do go to the dairy store when we are in town. But, if I were to say " hey, you gotta go here ". I don't think I would. It needs some attention to urgency. You can stand in line for some time before being noticed or getting the line moving. An area to work on for sure.

A must-visit ice cream+ store if you are visiting MSU campus! I had the Spartan Swirl milkshake (I believe this ice cream flavor used to be called the “Sesquicentennial Swirl” previously). It was really good! They also have a dozen other flavors and they are all good. During the academic year they also have soup during lunch! There is no seating inside so you just have to grab and go or eat/drink outside. No cash.
