Steam Fresh

Steam Fresh is now my fav dim sum place! Like its name says; everything is steamed fresh to order. Items are flavor packed and not too salty! Our eyes were obviously bigger than our stomachs but we love leftovers! The hom sui gok was one of the best I’ve had. The ingredients were fresh and hearty and the fried mochi outside was delish. The daikon cake was also excellent with a great texture. Soup dumplings were soupy and flavorful, I kept splattering on myself lol. Rice noodles were smooth and had lots of meat. Hubs made me get up early cuz he wanted the breakfast set, which he thoroughly enjoyed and devoured with some of our other goodies. Awesome local Chinese dim sum spot. The black sesame roll was super delicious and legit! Very underrated!! Steamed sticky rice in lotus leave was steaming hot and yummy. Simple Cantonese soul food!

* Bright, simple ambience. Very nice contemporary Chinese music playing. * Waitresses were very nice and helpful. We ordered in Cantonese. * Food was really good! - Shrimp Rice Roll - didn't have as much flavor as we wanted (perhaps the sauce) but got better as we ate; very good texture though. Will try it again next time. - Chow Mein - very good! Reminded me of the simple HK chow mein flavors. A classic dish and worth ordering. - Fish Ball Soup Noodles - the fish balls were intriguing; never had it with this texture, definitely different from other fish balls in the area. Noodles and broth were flavorful. Worth getting. - Taiwanese Cabbage - this was delicious! Flavorful and crunchy texture. Very surprised by how rich this tasted. Highly recommended! Will return to try again!

The steamed rice rolls were very soft and silky, can definitely taste the difference from the factory and dim sum house ones. The owner chef came by and told us that they mill the flour swirl themselves before steaming, so it comes out extra silky. Note the steam rolls aren't part of their bfast combo but on their tea time combo. Very clean and spacious restaurant.

Fantastic new dim sum spot in Monterey Park! Everything was fresh and flavorful. Service was attentive and warm without being overbearing. The space is clean with a great mom-and-pop vibe. A must-try for dim sum lovers!
