The Friday Story Time here for kids is phenomenal. 10/10 recommend if you have a little one in the Twin Cities metro. The children’s librarian is so good at entertaining, engaging, and educating the kids.
I can appreciate having a library in the community, but I’m a bit disappointed in the library’s hours. Closing at 5pm on a Monday? Are you serious?? Also the hours in general are very odd. At least have the library open until 10pm each day with the exception of Friday and Sunday. I think the library hours in Hennepin county needs to be looked at and re-evaluated
I noticed in my short time here, that older white people are allowed to be super loud and obnoxious and are not checked. There was an older man very hyped, talking loudly and laughing loudly with friends about football for about 20 minutes. There was an older woman talking loudly having a conversation with someone for the same amount of time. These older people are coming here to socialize while most of us are trying to read or get work done! why come to a library to be loud? Why doesn't library staff tell them the rules of being quiet and using your inside voice?
This library is so noisy and such a small space. The librarians step in about noise when there's an adult on their phone but won't tell a bunch of loud unattended kids to be quiet or advise them on library etiquette.
My experience at the library is with toddlers. We attended a storytime several times now and then we use the library afterward. It is so child-friendly and a great experience.
