A lovely place with great atmosphere, architecture, and a large variety of media to check out. They have a variety of items to check out besides book, too!
Pretty big selection for a fairly small town (by standards other than Vermont 😉). Has a large, cozy reading and reference room with over 100 board games and puzzles that can be checked out just like books. Children's section is bright and inviting, with a generous selection of both fiction and non-fiction for young folks. Adult fiction takes up about 1/3 of the first floor, and non-fiction fills the second floor, with about a third of the second floor dedicated to young adult books and computers specially marked for use by teens. There are tons of community events that happen at the library, and organizations of every imaginable kind to help with all sorts of issues advertise on numerous bulletin boards. The friendly front desk staff are happy to help you locate whatever books or assistanc
The Springfield library has a lot of wonderful books for our children. They even have baby books for babies about 3 months and up. Its nice to find a variety. I have not been able to look at the books for us adults, yet. They have book bags that have different activities. One book bag we checked out had resources to look at the planet and stars, then your child has to write in a journal to tell what they found. The staff is very welcoming, and always nice to chat with. (A mother using her husbands account to write a review :)
Everyone here is always very helpful. I also love the children's area. It's a great place to bring her baby and encourage a love for books from an early age. Where else can you bring a child, for free, and foster their imagination by doing things such as put on a puppet show for you?
