Spencer Silver Mansion

We had a marvelous one-night stay at the Spencer-Silver Mansion. Carol is a wonderful and welcoming host. The room with private jacuzzi was fantastic. Even though it was just one night, we felt like we had been on vacation. Carol made a delicious breakfast and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests. Havre de Grace is a lovely town. We enjoyed walking on the boardwalk along the water near the lighthouse and dinner at Water Street Seafood.

This past week we spent three wonderful nights at the Spencer Silver Mansion B&B in Havre de Grace, MD. Before I begin the review, it is important to note this is not just a regular B&B, this is a historic home. It is critical that we support historical home B&B's not because they are quaint and provide a more personal touch than a hotel, it's because they are part of our Nation's history. The first picture is the home itself and as you can see, it's quite majestic. The doorbell shows the date the home was constructed. There is ample parking in the front on Union Street and even more on the side street which is Bourbon Street. Our stay at the Spencer Silver Mansion was lovely! It is a well kept and extremely clean house, and you can tell that it would not be what it is without the heart and soul of the place: Carol. She is a very kind soul who was happy to have us in her home and very excited to share the history as well as the things to do around town. She even took the time to draw on a map for us and note all the best spots in and around town! We stayed in the Iris room, which included a VERY clean jacuzzi tub, wine glasses, and charming Victorian decor! Carol made sure to give us the tour and left us with freshly made cookies, fruit, and robes with handmade slippers. There was also a large backyard with many chairs to choose from that we enjoyed in the evening while having our complimentary coffee and tea. I

Carol is an excellent host of an awesome B&B in the traditional sense. We stayed 3 nights and every morning had a different decicious meal. The mansion is beautiful and elegant. We will be returning!

This place was perfect for our quick stay in Harve De Grace. It's so cool. The owner is fabulous! She is an amazing baker and cook. Our bed was super comfortable! The parking was not an issue. Plenty of open spots in front or the side of the building. We chose the room with a shared bathroom but as it turned out the other couples rented rooms with a private bathroom. So we had the large hall bathroom to oursleves and it was beautiful. It looked to me it was newly updated but she kept the theme of the house. This house was alot cheaper from other houses in the town and they looked exactly like hers, at least from the outside. Her house was super clean. I can't image how she keeps up with it because it's huge, but somehow she can do it. We decided on this town because it has a beautiful wate
