⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS — A MUST VISIT IN JAMESTOWN! We had an absolutely incredible experience in downtown Jamestown—this place is a true hidden gem! The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. From the cozy, stylish interior to the beautiful patio with heaters and a fireplace, the ambiance is one of the best we’ve experienced. It’s the perfect mix of relaxed and upscale. Now let’s talk about the food… WOW. I had the Grilled Chicken Pasta, and it was phenomenal—tender grilled chicken tossed with pasta in a rich, creamy parmesan-style sauce with just the right amount of seasoning. Every bite was flavorful and perfectly balanced. My husband ordered the Lunch Cajun NC Catfish, and it was just as impressive—cornmeal-dusted and fried to perfection with a crispy coating, served with a delicious lime cap

Had a good time at Southern Roots. It's a beautiful space with plenty of natural light which was great and well needed for our lunch. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and a grilled chicken panini and both were pretty good. They had a ton of flavor and were really fresh. My friend had the caesar salad and she absolutely loved it. The service was also great. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our lunch. Overall I had a good experience. I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.

The atmosphere was amazing the customet service was amazing. I ordered Thai shrimp(grilled) as an appetizer, fried catfish, grits and cornbread. 1. The appetizer was good 2. The catfish was full of grease. Grease was covering my plate. The grits were Ok. 3. The cornbread was not cornbread. It tastes like pancake mix and some sort of homestyle recipe which did not blend well. It didn't give off southern at all. It did not have any sweetness to it. The honey butter for it was amazing but it could not compliment the cornbread. 4. The dessert was amazing I had the red velvet cake.

Dinner at Southern Roots was excellent. The food and service were both great, with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. The atmosphere was relaxed with dim lighting, and there is a bar with beer taps, wine, and mixed drinks. I was seated right away, but later there was a wait for tables, so it is clearly a popular spot. The service was well paced and unhurried. There is a parking lot, but it is small and fills up quickly. I would definitely return.

The lunch here today was delicious. The waiter was great as well. The cornbread appetizer was good only if you added that amazing honey butter and that gravy was good too. Just wish the cornbread itself had flavor so the toppings would compliment the flavor of the cornbread. I liked the bourbon sauce with the steak. Mashed potatoes and green beans were good as well. Today was such a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy lunch at this place! Can't wait to try other dishes.
