Southern Roost - Douglas

This former Hog N Bones restaurant has been remodeled and rebranded with a new name. While most Coffee County residents liked the former restaurant and their BBQ and fried shrimp will be missed, my wife and I were very pleased with the more limited new menu, prices, cleanliness and service. I enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich smothered in Buffalo sauce and served with crinkle-cut fries. My wife liked the fried chicken strips with fries and a tiny cup of tasty Cole slaw. There are a few grilled chicken options and salads for lunch and dinner, plus breakfast items too. Check it out in the restaurant or through the busy drive-through.

I just came to eat by myself through the drive through and service was absolutely amazing and fast! workers were so kind. Food is hot and fresh!! Definitely 10/10!!!!

Southern Roost is straight GAS 🔥🍗 — like honestly… untouchable. Not even Raising Cane’s can be in the same category as this. And I don’t even know if you can call this “fast food” because it’s on a whole different level. Ever since I’ve been traveling across the U.S., it’s been a crazy food adventure 🌎🍽️ and this right here is one of those places that makes you realize what you’ve been missing out on. The hospitality here is off the charts. I miss the Jerry J's, but the soul of the place is still there.
