Southdown Coffee - Point Lookout

Southdown finally came to the South Shore!! This shop has the very best specialty coffee in Long Island. If you like specialty coffee on the lighter side, this is best coffee you’ll find. Hands down. I’ve tried products from other roasters, and they always over-roast their beans. Mark is a detailed owner-operator. All of their stores have their the same feel and quality. Consistent across all locations I’ve visited.

So excited for this cute new addition to the area. I had one of their seasonal drinks - the flower power - and it was delicious. Interesting but not too sweet. Also had the avo toast and a chocolate chip cookie. They make the baked goods on site and also sell some goodies like bags of popcorn, pretzels, and a bunch of high end seltzer / soda drinks. The staff is friendly and the vibe is bright and airy. There are a few seats inside, and a few large picnic tables outside. When the umbrellas are up they offer a lot of nice shade. Outside is spacious enough for strollers etc. Will definitely be coming back often!

I only became aware of this lovely little gem in June, and since then, I have been back at least once a week, sometimes twice. I CRAVE the lavender latte. Absolutely delicious. Made with house made lavender syrup, it's delightful. I make it a really extravagant treat by adding half and half and simple syrup. Divine. I also highly recommend the chick pea salad sandwich. Scrumptious. So glad I found this place.

Super clean, super well run - I'll be back again. Parking sucks which is a shame as it's a great location to drop in for an ice coffee after the beach for the drive home. But not sure what can be done about that. Will be back.

Kevin was friendly and makes a great pour over! The chickpea sandwich was scrumptious and on delicious bread. Go for a quick bite and enjoy coffee with a friend! This place was so clean and inviting!
