I went to the restaurant on Monday afternoon. It’s not crowded so the food was served very quickly. I had a chicken wings with garlic butter sauce and a bowl of pho for main dish. My pho had beef balls and ribeye. The broth was clear and fragrant. My server - Nina is a sweet girl. Definitely come again

It had been a while since my last visit, but with the rain coming down today, a bowl of pho sounded perfect. I stopped by Soup Shop and was immediately reminded why this place stays busy. The restaurant was completely packed when I walked in, and there was a short waitlist. I was second in line, but despite having only two people working the front, they moved efficiently and had tables cleaned and bills settled within about 15 minutes. Once I sat down, service was quick and on point. My order was taken right away, and my bowl of pho arrived in under five minutes. The broth was piping hot and rich in flavor. The biggest reason for eating here is the late hours they are open. The days of really late night dinners are over for many of my neighborhood restaurants. We arrived about 8 pm and there was no waiting although the place seemed quite full. Menu is filled with these colorful well plated dishes so I was anticipating at least a semblance of said photos. Slightly to vastly different from the photos. (Is it IG vs reality photos?) I felt the food was okay but the soup lacked a distinct depth of flavor. Noodles were also still undercooked but softened eventually. Out of all the businesses that exist in this small plaza in Cerritos, Soup Shop has to be one of the best. Walking up to the front of the restaurant, I felt a little uncomfortable because there were so many people waiting for a table outside. I put name down for two and was told it would be a 25 minute wait but didn’t even end up waiting the whole 25, they had the table ready pretty quick. After sitting down, we both ordered our pho and the food was out in less than ten minutes. I had the combination and my friend ordered the oxtail with a bone on the side. They were both amazing. The bao was tasty, with a bit of sweetness to it. I didn't have the pho but I heard it was flavorful and large serving. The waiter was helpful. The custard was creamy and not too sweet, the sugar on top was crispy and overall yummy.
