Sombreros Mexican Cantina

Through travel for work I have the luxury of eating all over the world. I have had Mexican food in many many countries including Mexico. I have eaten at many places I consider fantastic, some as a repeat customer for decades. Sombreros has easily slid into my all-time Top 5 and maybe even Top 3. Everything was spot-on, fresh, super tasty. Every detail. Service was attentive, friendly and detail oriented. I was starving and thirsty. I started with their Top Shelf Margarita w/Herradura Blanco. It was absolutely perfect, strong and balanced. I had another later, also perfect. I decided on Tortilla Soup as an “app”, was really a meal in itself, teeming with fresh pulled chicken, fresh tortilla strips, cheese and veggies. It was perfect temp and a comfort food jackpot. I believe my waitress was Sophia, if thats not her name sorry, but she was great. She has a great sense of humor and I love her energy. Reasonable prices as well, food was delicious and drinks were on point (shoutout to the bartender too). Will be coming back.

Edit: i used to love this place. I've been coming here for 5 years but its steadily declining in customer service. Half the time the dont answer the phone or they repeatedly put you on hold and hang up on you. When you pick up they'll leave you standing there. Original post: why is there a random lid in my rice?

I ordered a large burrito with steak, but when the burrito came out, there wasn't very much steak in the burrito itself. The burrito was thin. I felt like they were trying to stretch the steak material out to make money. But to the restaurant's defense, I did not bring it to their attention to give them the opportunity to correct the problem. The food tasted good. The waiter kept our chips coming and salsa full.

The charged us 20% grat on top of the 25% I already left on my lunch tab. The server never mentioned it and their menus haven’t been reprinted with this change and it’s not posted anywhere for their patio guest to see the change. My total was $80 for lunch with two people and we shared one plate and one pitcher of margaritas. And there was no manger on site to assist either.
