Sokah BBQ & Catering

Tonight was Sokah: Caribbean BBQ in Ambridge! We had been seeing some positive reviews and this was on my radar so we made the trip. I will say parking isn’t solid, so you might need to park a block or two up or on a side street. They do have tables inside so there is seating there! The guys behind the counter were awesome, super enthusiastic and helpful! They do run out of things so if there’s something you are very specifically wanting make sure you get there early or not on a Friday (I will be back to try that Mac and cheese if my life depends on it!) We ordered a bunch of items - I got the chopped beef sammich (brisket, jalapeño Aioli, pickled red onions) which was absolutely incredible. Sokah BBQ in Ambridge might just be the best BBQ in the entire Pittsburgh area. I had the jerked chicken, brisket baked beans, cornbread, and peach cobbler — and honestly, every single thing was a hit. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone good with that spicy kick that keeps you going back for “just one more bite.” The brisket beans? Smoky, hearty, and basically a meal by themselves. The cornbread was soft, sweet, and didn’t crumble into dust like some sad cornbread imposters out there. And the peach cobbler… let’s just say I would fight someone for the last bite. If you’re anywhere near Ambridge and don’t stop here, that’s your loss. This place is the real deal!

Some of the best food in Pittsburgh hands down! The oxtail, jerk chicken, Mac n cheese, greens, that soul bowl or jerk chicken pasta. I’ve never had a bad meal at sokah and the guys behind the counter are truly the best! Corey is so personal and the chef JB I think is his name has just great flavor on all his meats and fixings! All they need is a catchy theme song and they’re basically at the top for me!

Whoever made the food on christmas eve, I hope you get EVERYTHING you want for Christmas. Holy moly. Best GD sandwich I've ever had. Toasted? WITH CHEESE!? Good gravy. And the corn bread. OUH GOUUUUD. 11/10 meal.

Oxtails.....should be called butter-tails....so good and fall of bone. Jerk chicken, perfect spice and so moist. Sides delicious. My wife said best corn bread, hands down best. Got to take a look at Dino Beef ribs (weekends)..big, fat, juicey....perfectly smoked. Get here!
