Sobotta Manor Bed & Breakfast

My wife and I have had the pleasure of staying at the Sobotta Manor B&B in Mt. Airy, NC during the Autumn Leaves Festival for six of the past eight years and have never been disappointed. During that time, we have stayed in all of their beautifully decorated rooms and found that each has is own charm. Our favorite is The Garden Room overlooking The back yard. The beds are, of course, very comfortable and the entire house is immaculate. Now, let's talk about the food! We have stayed regularly at B&Bs over the past 20 years and I can state confidently and enthusiastically that the Sobotta Manor's breakfasts are hands-down the best we have had anywhere (restaurants included). A friend and I stayed here while attending a yoga event at Sacred Space yoga. This house is decadent, the garden is beautiful and the owners welcoming and informative. The bed was so comfortable and breakfast was delicious. We hiked Hanging Rock and enjoyed dinner at the North State winery. I look forward to bringing my husband next time. I'm such a believer in the idea that people make trips away much brighter. The conversations with the owner and the new people we shared breakfast with were just as great as the sweet town of Mount Airy. Thank You for a great experience.

I recommend this place without reservation! Probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in the last 10 years - down bed top and super soft sheets. Loved it! All furnishings and home original. BEAUTIFUL gardens in the back for meditative walk. Great street with old large homes from furnature days. Food is to die for (breakfast). Access to coffee and mint tea (my favorites). Great location in the city - small walks to town center. too bad I can't rate this place (and it's kind owners) at 10 instead of just 5 :).

We happened upon this delightful B and B by accident as we were driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and needed to make an unexpected stop-over. We happened upon a majestic, mansion-like nineteenth century home which was beautifully furnished with period pieces. The management was warm, welcoming and friendly. A special contemporary touch was the very impressive Aga stove in the kitchen. Be sure to request a "guided tour" of the stove if you are interested in cooking. There is a large, attractive garden behind the house. Sobotta Manor is located in Mt Airy, North Carolina, the home town of Andy Griffiths. We rely heavily on reviews when booking trips -so it's our pleasure to review the Sobotta Manor with 5 stars. My husband and I decided to book a weekend getaway for my 30th birthday at the last minute. Not only did Robin accommodate us - she made it wonderful! Breakfast was truly gourmet and fabulously delicious. Sometimes places can make it a stuffy affair - not here though...you're treated well, but with a very homey touch. We even chatted it up with Robin for a while. She's a great host! Everything in the house is done right - the decor, the level of comfort with the guest in mind. We enjoyed cheese&crackers fireside in the evening, and watched a dvd that night in our room from their nice dvd library on our in-room flatscreen. A very nice place with a nice pricetag- we will sta
