Smokey Watson BBQ

Traveled from New Orleans for the smoked oxtails and it was so worth it. I tasted it in the parking lot and I immediately went back for another plate. They were fall off the bone tender and so flavorful. I also got the brisket, smoked sausage, and turkey wing. Again, so tender and flavorful. For my sides, I had the mac & cheese, baked beans, and mustard greens. Mac and cheese was cheesey and creamy, the baked beans were sweet and smokey, and the greens were delicious with a special seasoning that hit the spot. Everything was sooo good. Libby (Mrs. Smokey Watson) was so nice. I felt like I was talking with family. I have told several friends and family members (in New Orleans and Baton Rouge) about Smokey Watson. One has already visited with a similar review and others plan to go very soo

I moved from Slidell to Baton Rouge 2 years ago. I can not believe it took me so long to find this place. I was a little skeptical at first because when I called the number no one answered. But when I looked on Google, they said they were open, so I just took a ride and I am so glad that I did. They did not disappoint me. I usually don't order potato salad from other places because I'm picky about my potato salad and everybody don't know how to make potato salad Im the same way about greens. But when I tell you, I got the potato salad as a side order. And the greens as a side order and it tastes like my grandmother cooked it. This place is awesome. I haven't had good beef ribs since I worked in Texas a few years ago. I've been craving them for a while now. When I found out they did them here on Saturdays, it became a personal mission to come try them. I got a beef rib plate with mustard greens and the smoked mac n cheese. The first bites sent me to another dimension! When I was done i had to check and make sure my socks were still on! My new favorite BBQ spot in Louisiana

The wife and I found Smokey Watsons today. I’m always on the lookout for smoked brisket, and Smokey Watson did not disappoint. Loved every bite. We also ordered the ox tail. I’ve never had smoked ox tail before and now I’m spoiled. Delicious! Smoked Mac and Cheese is a must have. Just finished off the leftovers for supper and I’m looking forward to the next time.

For the last few weeks I have had reservations about trying Watson’s. Only because of my experiences with some other restaurants here in Baton Rouge. Well, baby I’m here to tell y’all! It’s A1! Great customer service, good price and good food. I’ll be returning soon!
