Smithfield Farm Bed & Breakfast

Stayed here with my wife this week after an event at Summit Point raceway. The farm and manor were wonderful. Rooms were spotless and well maintained, with a continental breakfast, banana bread, cookies, and a bunch of snacks ready upon our arrival. Service was also really good. I texted the innkeepers upon our arrival and check out and they responded immediately. They even left the key to the room and a welcome later for late check in after 7 pm. And the location is also awesome. I think the property is around 400 acres in size. Really nice place to go and unwind. Highly recommended.

I cannot believe the Smithfield B&B is not more well known. My husband and I came for the night for a birthday trip, and the innkeepers left balloons and some lovely snacks to celebrate! Every detail was thought of - the rooms featured custom bath herbs that were delightful, the lounging area featured a cozy reading room - the entire property is filled with beautiful historic furniture and decoration that feel like a museum of craftsmanship. We also fell in love with the old Berryville bookstore that’s a 10 minute drive away. There are so many wonderful places to rest - the big clawfoot tub in the Wellford room, the hammock in the backyard, the front sitting room, the two peaceful chairs by the gurgling stream, or the bench at the end of the trail covered in blackberries. We love everything about this B&B! Breakfast is always delicious and filling, the home is beautiful and comfortable, the farm setting is peaceful, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. We've stayed 7 times over the past 15 years and even though we just returned home from the farm, we are already looking forward to our next stay. Ruth and Betsy treat us like family and their B&B is a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of regular life.

Staying here feels like stepping into a Jane Austen novel. The home is beautifully maintained and there are lots of thoughtful amenities for guests, like homemade lip balm and cookies. We slept well, ate well and enjoyed exploring the scenic walking trails through the surrounding fields. It's an absolute gem of a B&B and we already look forward to returning. We booked a room for one night when the chance came to get away from our kids for a night for a belated 15th Anniversary celebration. What a wonderful choice it turned out to be! This is a beautifully appointed B&B with friendly, attentive inn keepers - Ruth was so welcoming and gracious, taking the time to show us around and ensure we were settled in when we arrived, and spending a lot of time talking with us about how she and her late husband restored the property. Her daughter Betsy prepared the best breakfast I've had in years - most of the ingredients came straight from the farm, and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
