Smallcakes Cupcakery and Ice Cream

As a fellow small business owner in the community, I’m always looking to support other local gems—and Smallcakes is definitely one of them! I tried their cupcakes for the first time today for my son’s birthday, and I was completely blown away. Every cupcake was beautifully made, incredibly fresh, and absolutely delicious. The owner is not only exceptionally talented but also one of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Her passion shows in every detail, from presentation to flavor. I’m already planning to use Smallcakes for future celebrations—both personal and professional. Random act of kindness. My mother in law who is 94 and in a nursing home across the street from the store asked for ice cream. When I entered the store and explained situation the owner cheerfully served up a little cup and then gave it to me free. It is great to know people still care and are kind.

I love the Smallcakes flavors and I've been going to the one in Naperville for many years. So when I saw they had opened on is Western Springs, I was delighted. Unfortunately, this sect of the franchise is extremely lacking in quality, almost an insult to the "Smallcakes" name. Its the same recipe sure, but the actual look of it is so lazy and rushed. Just look at the quality of these orders. If I'm paying out the nose for "gourmet cake" I expect to get something that doesn't look like a five year old made it. If you're just running in to grab a dessert quickly they taste fine, but don't come here for a special event by any means. Theyll charge you a ridiculous amount for cupcakes that they couldnt have taken mire than 10 minutes to make. You'd be better off going to the Mariano's around

It's always exciting when new things open in town, and Smallcakes is a great place to take care of a sweet tooth craving. This adorable cupcakery just opened up in Garden Market (by Great American Bagel and Subway). This little shop had its grand opening on the 2nd and since it was the weekend I thought I would stop on by and try it out. First off, the decor in Smallcakes is chic and girly - as there a lot of pink (my favorite is the pink ottoman). The set up of the display counter is well thought out - you can see all the cupcake designs as well as the names of them clearly through the glass. There is a wide variety of flavors of cupcakes which is great - but also makes it harder in my opinion because everything looks so darn good. However, my main concern was they look great - but do t
