We love their sourdough bread. Best in the Cincinnati area. Like another review stated, don’t know why someone didn’t like the sourdough. We have several friends who buy it at Jungle Jim’s. It’s so good they sale out sometimes before we can purchase it. I only wish we could buy direct from the bakery. Keep them coming please!
Well one review said the sourdough is bad. Way wrong. Its the best sourdough I have ever had. Great and tangy. I get it from a sandwich shop on fields ertel. Not sure what they got and that sucks. But i an telling you sourdough with dukes mayo with salmi corned beef and pastrami with Swiss. 4 slices of tomato. So good . The baker is an artist. Its really hard to make a great sourdough. Slow rise at 77 degrees for just the perfect time so both types of bacteria can do their thing. It isnt easy. And they do it great. Pretty sure they use a multi grain flour. Any way their salted rye is great as well.
I like supporting local, but man the sourdough is awful. It's dry, tough, and always burned. It's sad when Kroger's product is better than the local stuff, but the last loaf I bought is just inedible and this isn't the first time I've had this experience. Alas my search for an excellent loaf of sourdough in the 'nati continues
Arguably the worst bread baked by humans I've ever had. The crust is way too hard and sometimes so is the inner part of the bread. The flavor is bland. I've nearly broken my teeth many times and sandwiches are ruined because the filling comes out with how much pressure is required to gnaw through the bread. Every time I look at a menu and they offer 16 Bricks, I get very sad. I either don't order the food at all or order reluctantly and hope that it's a softer batch. It's a running joke in our circle that they must add 16 real bricks to every loaf of bread with how hard and terrible it is. Unfortunately, many vegan options in the area use this bread instead of making their own that actually tastes good. From the sourdough to the rye, it's just bad. Please do better since local res
This bakery, which is NOT open to the public, makes fantastic breads & pastries. Absolutely love the multi-grain bread served at the Mariemont Inn National Exemplar restaurant. Sold at select farmers markets and smaller stores. So worth the time to track the bread down!
