Shorty's Diner

The diner had a great breakfast overall, and the employees were very welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, the chicken fried steak was disappointing—it tasted off, almost like it might have been frozen or not fresh. It’s hard to pinpoint, but it didn’t live up to the rest of the meal’s quality. With a bit of improvement there, it could be a solid spot for breakfast.

Best customer service we’ve had in long time. We loved that they all spoke and understood Spanish. Great food! Definitely return again, worth the drive from Melba, Idaho. The juke box was such a cute thing to have on the table. Oldies music while we enjoyed our meals.

Service was very friendly and attentive, food was great. I had the chicken fried steak, it was so tender I could cut it with my fork. Sourdough toast was good as well. Atmosphere was a little loud and bustling, which is what I would expect in a busy diner. Would go out of my way to come here again.

Shorty's has been decorated to feel like a vintage diner. There are vintage Coca-Cola, Beatles, and other posters on the wall. The servers were nice and did their best to accommodate us. The food was slow. They had only one cook. The shakes were not great. They tasted like a fast food shake (think McDonald's). The rest of the food was fair. The breakfast food was overall better than the other food.
