Shorewood Public Library

One of the cutest libraries I have been too! I love the ample parking that they provide for people. I also love the fact they have a whole section for kids to get books, read, use computers, and be kids! I also love the fact they have numerous tables for people to do work at or read a book they grabbed. I have always driven past here in the few years I have lived in Milwaukee and I am so happy I finally stopped in!

In my scoping out of Milwaukee county libraries for taking our young kids to, this is a top choice so far! There’s an entire separate room dedicated to playing, and then another space for kids books with a train table (with lots of tracks and cars) and a couple couches. The play area had a space just for small babies to crawl around too, as well as lots of hooks for coats. I will say the selection of board books was pretty slim compared to some other libraries.

I was in a pickle and no mistake! My printer at home decided to stop working when I needed it most TODAY! Called Shorewood Public Library and asked if they did printing and was told ‘yes’😊. Shortly after I arrived and inquired again a nice young woman, Megan walked me through each step … literally walking me over to the printer and going through it twice! God bless her! I went home with my document completed. Woohoo. Thanks Megan!

It'd be cool if they could use some form of electronic messaging to let those with library cards here know when the hours change, something like what they use to let us know when a book is available for pickup.

Lovely library. Always friendly and helpful librarians who go out of their way to assist. The kids' area is back open (it was closed during COVID) and my kids have always adored going there to play. Some parents do take advantage of the area a bit and leave their kids there (you are supposed to be monitoring and playing with your kids in the area) but the librarians monitor that and gently remind any parents that don't follow the posted rules. Wonderful selection of books and if they don't have a book they will do their best to get it for you from County Cat. Very clean and excellent WiFi as well.
