Shoku Sushi & Bar

I dined here yesterday and wanted to share some honest feedback. The food here is consistently great, always arrives in a timely manner, which keeps me coming back. The kitchen does an excellent job with quality and efficiency. Unfortunately, the service can be inconsistent depending on the server. There is one specific server who does not always greet guests, rarely smiles, and often seems unwelcoming. Because of this, I will admit that I typically tip this server around 15% due to the level of customer service provided. During my visit yesterday, I witnessed a concerning situation. A group of women (who are of color) attempted to receive service from this same server and were turned away. It appeared that the server refused to serve them because she felt they had not tipped her adequat

My husband and I have had our favorite sushi spots in Charlotte that are tried and true that we typically stick with. However, we recently tried Shoku and it has now been added to our list of favorites! The sushi is fresh tasting and full of flavor. The hibachi style meals are absolutely incredible - and the sweet carrot that comes on the side is amazing! If you love a good crab rangoon with lots of filling you will absolutely find that these will satisfy your craving. The customer service is wonderful and the prices are great. Online ordering is super simple to use as well. So far we’ve dined in once and gotten to-go once as well as we will definitely return!

The food is good however the customer service SUCKS. If staff is wanting to be tipped they should try smiling at your customers and having a friendly demeanor instead of walking around like you hate your job. There is one server in particular that NEVER comes around to ask if the food is okay, do you need a straw, extra napkins, NOTHING so if you tips are wanted I would recommend you start acting like you want to be at work.

1st time. Its perfect for a quick bite. Food was out pretty quickly. It's your average Sushi spot. Everything tasted good.

0/10 customer service. I’ve never been to a restaurant that expects a tip for crappy service. I witnessed 4 ladies getting denied service because they wanted a tip. To make matters worst they were all women of color. I’ve ate at this restaurant and the server (not sure of her name because she never introduces herself) always seems like she has an attitude. It’s almost like she hates her job. How can you expect a tip when you do a half ass job. My suggestion would be to hire someone with a better attitude and I guarantee you that person will be tipped if better service is provided.
