My buddy wanted to try this place after seeing a YouTube video. Stop by for lunch on a rainy afternoon. No line and was seated right away. We both ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Curry and shared takoyaki for appetizer. Takoyaki had a good amount of octopus and not too floury. The curry was flavorful and a bit on the sweeter side. The pork tonkatsu was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside, with the rice and extra for the egg, it was a satisfying lunch. Also the price is good for the portions.
I ordered from Shogun Tonkatsu & Curry through Uber Eats, and everything arrived fresh and well packed. The beef egg udon was super flavorful, and the onsen egg was perfect-- soft, silky and blended beautifully with the broth. The pork cutlet set was real crunchy, even for delivery, and the Japanese pickles were a nice touch, I love pickled things, though the pork cutlet portion was a bit small. I was sad there was only 4 pieces. The set came with a miso soup and a cabbage salad, that dressing was to die for! Its very hard to satisfy me with agedashi tofu, no one seems to get it right, but they did! It was on point, crispy outside, soft inside, minced radish, and the sauce had that deep umami flavor. The chicken katsu curry was a standout-- big portion, 8 pieces! Cripsy katsu and the c
The service was great. It’s a small space so it’s homey and you know you’ll be attended to. The food was super good!! I definitely recommend the daikon salad for an appetizer. If you’re looking for Japanese curry or something new, I recommend this spot!
Hello, boss. Most of the other food in your restaurant is actually decent, and the Japanese skewers are grilled quite well. However, your signature tonkotsu udon is an absolute disaster. The way you’ve “modified” this udon doesn’t appeal to Asians or Japanese customers, nor does it appeal to American or Western customers. The broth is far too thick, too salty, and oddly sour. I strongly suggest using a diluted, lighter tonkotsu broth, keeping it clean and refreshing — no sugar and no sour flavors. In its current form, this tonkotsu udon is a complete failure. You should really invite some Asian or Japanese customers to do a tasting and give you honest feedback. The tonkotsu udon featured on the posters hanging on your wall is, frankly, extremely bad.
18.5 + tax for three full size katsu that aren’t little meatballs! I did order the dressing on the side for the cabbage. Unlimited cabbage and rice refills. I order the “HIRE (he-reh) katsu style as it’s less fatty meat cut.
