Sherpa Shack

Cute little place within walking distance of our campground Woodland rv park. Very pricey, over $5 for 1 scoop.

Love this place! The ice cream is delicious and is the main reason for an overnight in Grand Marais on our way downstate. There are some other UP towns where you can find this ice cream, but not after Labor Day. The Sherpa Shack was still open in mid-September, but with limited hours. Service was really friendly, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. You can even get a flight of ice cream flavors if you can't decide!

I loved the ice creams here, especially the coconut almond icecream, if you are looking for something aesthetically pleasing with yumilicious ice creams this summer to beat the heat, this is the place for you. A small business running big in Grand Marais. They have this detailed allergen menu put up for each of their flavors on the bulletin board right next to the counter for easy access. They have some great flavors. (They have options for ice creams without egg)

Ice cream is really good but this is the most ridiculously priced ice cream shop with extremely small portions. We have come to Grand Marais and stopped at this ice cream shop for 4 years now and they must have new owners this year because portions are a rip off. Buyer beware that if you buy a 2-scoop cup it’s literally only two small scoops of ice cream for about $6. Then their large cups of ice creams costing $11 are not even filled over the rim. We won’t be coming again - ice cream for 2 adults and 2 kids was $35!

The BEST ice cream I have ever had. Oh my goodness, when they say it’s made with real cream and lots of it, they’re not kidding. So, so good. Friendly staff and a great variety of flavors, too.
