Sher Hot Chicken

Spacious, well-decorated and generally clean. We ordered fried chicken and burger. Burger was big, juicy and tasty. Fried chicken was salty and the drumsticks were dry. A few sauces were given but none was to shout about. Fries was very good but too little. Generally, all ok.

We first found this little gem on First Night. We decided to give it a try. All of our food was hot and delicious. This past weekend, we had to run some errands, my son asked if we could come here to eat again. (He is usually picky, so take that as his 5 star review) It is a little bit of a wait for food, but everything you get is hot and fresh!

Chicken shawarma had me floating. Wife had to pull me back down to earth by the ankle. Don’t have a picture to upload because I ate it too fast. You just have to take my word for it. It’s not a weirdly made or shaped shawarma like sometimes sold around here. It’s a solid, quality, proper, and reasonably priced shawarma, especially for State College. Starting to float again.

The Waker Chicken, previously known as Koop, once offered hot fried chicken wings that my wife and I loved. However, they removed them from the menu after a short period. When I heard about this new spot, Hot Chick, I was excited but a bit wary after reading reviews about their grand opening, mentioning wrong orders and undercooked meat. Despite that, my wife and I decided to give it a try today, and we had an absolutely great experience. The price of the fried chicken was very reasonable. We got 10 pieces of chicken for $18 and a salmon wrap for $14. Although the fried chicken took some time, it was exactly what we hoped for. We were passing through state college in the late afternoon. All the buffet restaurants were closed. We tried the 10 pcs chicken at 18$. It was amazing. The flavor and spices were well balanced (a little bit salty; still delicious). I would recommend everyone to stop and try their fried chicken.
