Shep's Riverside Bar and Grill

Wonderful little place right on the Mississippi in Lansing, Iowa with a great view of the old bridge. Decor was as you would expect for a restaurant on the river. Staff were friendly, nice selection on the menu and the food was amazing. If you go, try the tater tot nachos! Unbeatable.

This is a perfect place to stop for lunch or dinner. The service was great, and the food was amazing. I ordered the special cod, and it was made perfect. It came with a baked potato and cottage cheese. My kids ordered the chicken strips and the chicken sandwich it was all tasty. Thank you so much for having fast/friendly service and delicious food!

I've never experienced such terrible service. Table of 6, orders came out 1 or 2 at a time with overall wait time of over 2 hours and that was with no one else in restaurant. My single order came out last when others at table were done eating. I had ordered chicken strip basket & what the cook finally brought out (our waitress totally just disappeared) was just 3 chicken strips; nothing else. Not even the dipping sauce I ordered. If I could give this place a negative star, I would.

Service was fantastic. Food was alright, priced fairly. Drinks were poured heavy so I have no complaints there! Fantastic views of the Mississippi River. Great little restaurant for a quick bite to eat and a quick drink.

We have been coming here for years. It's a great stop by boat for drinks and food. We usually stay in lansing as well so easy to walk to as well. There's a great outdoor seating area/ bar downstairs that is a great area to watch river life. Great place to stop.
