Shelby's Bistro

Loved eating here on a Monday with my Mom. We both had vegetarian grilled portobello mushroom sandwiches & non-alcoholic Bloody Mary. There was sunshine, heat lamps, love music… all an unexpected delight! Grateful this was open.

Arrived at 4 (closed from 3-4 so assumed lunch before closure, dinner after). Wrong. Happy hour 4-6 $1 off drinks. Reduced priced on appetizers not until 5 pm. Dinner menus not available until 5pm. Gluten free, really only sandwiches and pizza. Or you can have a curry dish without the naan. If happy hour is 4-6 have a menu of both drinks and appetizers during the same time period. Don't advertise as gf if you don't have entress on dinner menu that are gluten free. Totally disappointing, had our drinks and went elsewhere for dinner. The food looked appetizing, just totally missed on service and clarity. Make it simple, inviting and don't advertise what you don't have.

Our server Alan was so friendly and nice, made the visit worthwhile. The food ..well... Wish could say was fantastic but just fell short. Ordered margarita pizza and it came out unlike any margarita pizza ever had. Chopped tomatoes and was so greasy...and quite soggy. Husband got hamburger, was tasty but fell apart as soon as first bite. Not a repeat for us. Others seemed to enjoy.

My sister and I stopped at Shelby’s loop Bistro after a trip to Nogales and Tubac, arriving at approximately 2:15. We have dined here before, great food, good service, no issues, even during their busy days of Tubac’s February Art Festivals. Yesterday was very different. We were seated outside, where four tables were finishing up. Most tables were empty. Waitress was very nice, took our order, two Greek salads, one glass of Chardonnay. We received waters and the wine, then sat and waited. And waited, and waited. Several servers walked by; our server said she checked and food would be ready soon. Waited some more. We went for the gluten free options. Many burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas to choose from. We ordered 4 different burgers with waffle fries or sweet potato fries. All were delicious.
